High capacity comfort and process cooling doesn’t have to lead to huge energy bills. The Daikin EWAD-CZ range is inverter controlled, achieving the highest partial load efficiency scores in its class (an ESEER of up to 5.8). Inverter technology continuously adapts the compressor speed to cooling demands. So the average power input required is decreased considerably, reducing CO2 emissions too.
The inverter driven Daikin EWAD-CZ chiller consumes only the power necessary to match the load, resulting in reduced annual energy consumption and operation costs. Inverter technology delivers a quicker system response to changing load conditions, lower starting current requirements, fewer compressor start-ups for greater reliability and quieter operation at partial load.
The European Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (ESEER) calculates the energy efficiency of a product over the year. ESEER is used to calculate the energy efficiency of a chiller, taking into account the varying loads on the system throughout the year.
The high efficiency Daikin EWAD-CZ inverter chiller range offers 13 different sizes from 640kW up to 1,800kW: the highest capacity available for cooling in this segment of the market. Operating in ambient temperatures from -18°C up to +50°C, the Daikin EWAD-CZ offers optional heat recovery and several units can be combined to serve even the largest applications.
The MicroTech III controller provides user-friendly control of parameters. One of the greatest benefits is its easy interface with LonWorks, BACnet, Ethernet TCP/IP and Modbus communications. The control logic is designed to maximise efficiency, to continue operation in unusual operating conditions and to provide a history of the unit’s operation.
The Daikin EWAD-CZ features an extensive option list, including partial or total heat recovery to produce hot water up to 55°C; a rapid restart option for facilities that can’t afford to lose cooling after a power failure and fan speed regulation to further increase ESEER.
